Comment: Perfect example of field size, fairness...Big field saw 37/1, 16/1, 70/1 bombers go to lead with slow pace and none held on for the tri...top finishers all swept wide for the prizes.

Top 3 finishers pretty much 1-2 throughout while putting away inside speed horse; 9/5 favorite chased and offered nothing, tiring.

dominant, 12-length winner was the best by a pole and ran away in an impressive display vs. 4 rivals.

second choice broke slow, recovered and

7/5 favorite was well back early, 9L behind after 1/2 mile, and commenced huge turn move to take over...Runner-up rallied from 6th at 9/2 odds; 6F split just 1:14, so they closed into no pace.

Comment: Field of 10 on YIELDING turf;
Pace-setting Euro stopped to last, while 9/2 Pletcher morning lined filly goes off 8/1 overlay...moved nicely mid-pack while 3-W, dove to the inside in the stretch and held off last-to-second Euro 7/2 shot.

3/1 winner pressed pacesetter who faded
to last of 5, assuming command with bold
2-path move 4 furlongs out; stayed 2-path
through tight stretch battle; no closers' impact.

Comment: Field of 6 after scratches and transfer to sloppy main track;
3/2 second choice and 6/5 favorite ran 1-2 throughout in slow :48.82 half mile and no closers made a dent.

Comment: Field of 10;
Fast 21-2/5 quarter with duelers; 26/1 upsetter from rain-soaked Emerald Downs sloshed home with ground-saving trip from off the pace;
18/1 runner-up was part of that hot pace and held for 2nd while 3-W.

Race: $100K Monmouth Univ. S., 5.5F (TAKEN OFF TURF)
Path/Style: 2-3W / speed duel on front end
Comment: TAKEN OFF TURF to sloppy main, leaving field of 7;
Speed duelers zipped :44.85 half and held for 1st and 3rd, while 3/5 favorite rallied 3-wide from about 3L back wide to just miss by neck.

Despite pedestrian fractions, favored Prussian couldn't sustain pace, swallowed in stretch by cavalry; 2nd and 3rd finishers also close from back of back, one inside, one outside.
